Project Development
Project development can be asked for a complete house renovation, one single room renovation (e.g. kitchen, bathroom…) or a piece of custom-made furniture. For those who have large construction/renovation works, project development does not need to be booked in total. All phases can be booked separately.
Project brief
First meeting with the client to understand the project:
- What is the project about?
- What are the client’s needs and wishes?
- What is the budget for the project?
Concept
- Search for ideas and presentation of first sketches/elementary plans
- Verification of technical issues
- Proposition for suitable materials, furnishings and accessories
- Rough budget estimation
- Provisional schedule
Project
- Detailed plans
- List of the final materials, furnishings and accessories chosen
- Detailed work description (cahier des charges)
- Project schedule
- Quote request from different firms and comparison of the prices
- Advice on the choice of the firm
Site supervision
- Contact between client and firms on site
- Construction site visits and reports
- Adjustment of the planning as work progresses
- Assistance with deliveries

Colour Consulting
A new coat of paint in the right color can freshen up every interior. Let an expert help you with the challenge of choosing the right tone for the result you are looking for. Color Consulting includes:
- Discussion with client to understand his wishes and get to know his style.
- Elaboration of a colour concept and presentation to the client.
- Sketch/Listing with the colour references chosen.
Home Styling
Home styling means rearranging existing furnishings & accessories and combining them with new items to create a remodeled space that truly reflects your personal taste. Home Styling includes:
- Elaboration of a furniture concept including existing furniture and/or new furniture and accessories.
- Room layout and listing with the furniture/accessories chosen.
Home Staging
Home Staging is the art of preparing a home to sell in the shortest time for the highest value. Studio Small has 2 kinds of Home Staging:
- Home Staging DIY: Analysis of the strength and weaknesses of the property, Advice on rearranging existing furnishing and small works to be done. Color consulting. Changes to be done by client.
- Home Staging PRO: Home staging DIY + quotes for the different works to be done with planning and supervision of the works. Buying and redecorating with more adapted furniture and decoration items.

About me
I’m Marie Heldenstein, a passionate Luxembourgish interior architect and furniture designer. I obtained my Interior Architecture degree in 2003 at the Institut Supérieur St. Luc Bruxelles and my Master’s degree in Furniture Design at the Edinburgh College of Art in 2005. After working as an interior architect and project manager in different areas of the design field, I created Studio Small in 2018 to focus on small scale projects where I supervise the whole design process – from the initial idea to the final detail.
I love to be outside. I love to travel. I love to discover new things. I love to see old things. I love natural patina and things that last. My designs are timeless with a touch of humor and warmth.
As an interior designer and a mother, I have learned that a pleasant organized home is essential for an easier life style. This is why Studio Small is always keen on combining the aesthetical and functional aspect of Design. It is my desire to create well thought homes and businesses that genuinely reflect a client’s personality or brand.
