About This Project
The owners had bought this old town house from 1907, completely devastated, but with most of the original features intact. The clients choose to work with Studio Small because of their strong interest to keep original features and integrate them in the project.
The important issues treated were:
- opening up the inside and adding space (extension) to create a multifunctional, family friendly space on the ground floor.
- bringing in a maximum of light inside the house.
- creating a proper bathroom and guest toilet, as these did not exist.
- creating an interesting balance between the old and the new features.
- working with as much natural/biological materials as possible, not only for finishings and furniture, but also for the renovation works.
