When a new owner took over a store specializing in organic children’s and home accessories, they turned to Studio Small to breathe new life into the space. The brief: refresh the interior while preserving as much of the existing inventory as possible through upcycling and thoughtful rearrangement.
To improve functionality and flow, the entire layout was reimagined. The entrance area was cleared to allow customers to move freely throughout the store. A previously cramped counter near the doorway was relocated to create a more welcoming and spacious entry. A dedicated office area was also carved out to enhance the store’s operational efficiency.
Studio Small designed a clean, minimalistic new counter to act as a calm visual anchor amidst the colourful array of children’s clothing and playful accessories. Integrated storage keeps the countertop clear and clutter-free, while a complementary patterned wallpaper adds a warm, textural contrast to the wooden structure.
To increase storage capacity without disrupting the aesthetic, closed white cabinets were added alongside existing open shelving. A custom-designed shelving system—both playful and flexible—was also introduced, providing versatile display options that adapt to evolving inventory.
With a small number of targeted, creative interventions, Studio Small successfully transformed a disorganized and uninspiring interior into a welcoming, practical, and visually appealing retail environment—proving that sustainable design can go hand in hand with style and functionality.
